The beautiful scenery on the way goes winding up at a height of 7000 feet and view of the snow-covered peaks and little rivulets is simply terrific. Some of the many attractions of Dhanaulti are as follows:

Horseback Riding : As soon as you reach the idyllic retreat, you are welcomed by the towering presence of Deodars and the hoarse shoutings of the ‘Tangawalas' for a joy ride on a horseback. Once you are adept with a horse and your bottom is glued to it, without jumping or falling off, you may ride a horse or two in the winding narrow valleys, which pose a challenge for all newcomers, sitting for the first time on a horse. After the initial fear and discomfort you may actually love to ride a horse. You may trot along the woody sloes till you come to the View Point, from where you get a mind-blowing view of the Doon valley and the magical Himalayan ranges. A further trek will take you high towards the Surkhanda Devi temple with it serene and calm natural environment.

Fruits and Vegetables of Dhanaulti : Dhanaulti is a major agricultural land, much of its produce like peas; luscious apples and big potatoes are part of the Government-owned farmlands. The immense apple orchards, spread over the surrounding mountainous region are a feast to eyes as well as the mouth. You may buy apples fresh from the orchards and enjoy its divine taste. You can also have a simple but nutritious meal at any of the farmhouses for free. Garhwals are famous for their love and hospitable nature. The mineral water spring coming out from a mystical mountain crevice is supposed to have magical curative powers. The ever-flowing spring water attracts many local folk from neighboring villages, who offer their devotion and salutations to nature's secrets.

You can explore Dhanaulti on a horseback or motorbikes. But many also prefer traveling by foot. The adventurous few may love to camp among the thick green wooded forests or go trekking on the sloppy valleys. But be sure to be prepared for the occasional snow-rains that may cover the whole valley in a thick coat of white.
