The Unlikely All-Ages Appeal of Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a complete family holiday place full of various striking places. According to a survey conducted by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, people falling in the age group of 21 and below accounted only for 10% of the total visitors to Las Vegas.

The aspects that make Las Vegas an all age place is the attractive resorts combined with the entertainment glaciers, dancing fountains and the shimmering performances of the theatre groups. Apart from these places, there are some other regional places for exploring as well such as Hoover Dam and the Mojave Desert parks.

The specialities of Vegas

To your amusement, you can find an Egyptian pyramid in Las Vegas located near the New York City skyline. You can also view a show called ‘the Fremont Street Experience', a free night time sound and light show. It is displayed on an overhead screen which is about equal to some 12,000 42-inch TV screens.

You can visit the golden crocodiles and lined stingrays all located in a monitored and supervised touch pool at Shark Reef in Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Many parts of Vegas have various amusement parks and education centres. You can find ponds created and full of sharks as well.

Various free attractions are also one important feature of Vegas. You can see for free the musical fountains at the Bellagio, the faux volcano eruption at the Mirage and the sound and light shows at the Forum Shops at Caesars, museums containing glass enclosed lions and various other animals etc.

Theatre Galore

The family market of Las Vegas has various theatres showing matinee shows and films. Apart from this, various tropical resorts and casinos host different theatrical shows and dramas for which they charge some where in the range of $15-$40. Thus, entertainment comes with different options. Various puppet-driven shows like the “Ronn Lucas Show” at the Luxor and similar entertainment options are also available. You can also find comedy shows like the “Mac King Comedy Magic Show” at Harrah's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and the likes of the same.

One of the famous theatres at Las Vegas is Cirque du Soleil which installed its first Las Vegas show, “Mystère” at Treasure Island. Most of these shows hosted are cheerful, colourful and feature trapeze artists that can do anything to please their crowd. Some of these also present crowd-pleasing clowning.

Beyond the City

Las Vegas offers various entertainment and gay options. You can never fall short of things in Vegas. You can explore different options including swimming in the exquisite resort swimming pools, or a small trip or ride into the Mojave Desert. One can also go on a long 55 miles drive towards the northern eastern part of Las Vegas to visit the Valley of Fire State Park. It is a colourful place having a rocky landscape having remnants of Indian ancient petro glyphs. One can go tracking, do road running and walk through the deserts.

You can find other day-trip options within or close by to Las Vegas itself. You can visit the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area which is located around 17 miles west of the city or go for the Tours of the Hoover Dam located about 30 miles to the southeast of Las Vegas. You can even enjoy the power plant generators lying there.

Las Vegas offers different options, when it comes to eating. You can visit any number of sandwich or burger joints along with Pasta bars and find hot dogs as well. For stay, you can find different range of smoking as well as no smoking hotels including rooms with balcony, kitchen and daily newspaper delivery.
