At the center point of this place is the symbol of Chandigarh: a structure made of metal representing a hand in an open fashion. This stands for the belief of the city, which is "open to give, open to receive".
This is a structure, which is above 85 feet. The hand serves another purpose too, it points to the direction in which the wind flows. The official buildings, which characterizes this place are beauty in themselves. First let us concentrate on the High Court. This structure was built in the time period of mid 1950s. The double roof of this building has a rather peculiar yet significant structure. It takes the shape of an umbrella, which signifies that justice is for all and is there for the protection of common man. The second building is The Secretariat. The construction of this building was complete by 1959. This happens to be the most striking of the three buildings thanks to its height and structure. This is where the ministers have their offices. Apart from this, at the top of the building there is a café where one can sit and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city. The Legislative Assembly is the third building of the complex. This square shaped building directly looks toward the High Court. The cupola has an odd shape which adds spark to the symmetrical structure. This entire complex was designed by Le Corbusier.
The Rock Garden Travel of Chandigarh:
The next must to visit place is the Rock Garden of Chandigarh. The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is located in sector 1, between the Sukhna Lake and the Capital Complex. This place is unique in itself. There are numerous monuments, which have been made from wastes, a recycling process. It is an exhibition open for all in the lap of nature. Visit to Zakir Hussain Rose Garden of Chandigarh:
This extends over large area of about nearly thirty acres and thus is the biggest rose garden in Asia continent. There are as many as sixteen hundred different types of rose plants found here. The scheme for the Rose Garden was proposed by Dr. M.S. Randhawa. He had a lot of interest in the varied species of flowers and in horticulture as well. At a particular time of the year when it is best for the roses a celebration, known as the Rose Festival takes place. The celebration consists of competitions and tons of other engaging events as well. A lot of people are known to participate and attend this celebration.
Forests of Chandigarh:
